The Fawsett Trust (Registered charity 201150) In November Fawsett Trust invites elderly, long term residents of Chalfont St Giles to apply for support in the run up to Christmas; Word Document Application form here, PDF Version here. Please share this with anyone whom it may help in these hard times. We provide vouchers to those applying who are over 66. The vouchers distributed are redeemable in exchange for goods until Christmas at the village shops in Chalfont St Giles (including Three Households), so there is a double benefit for the village as a whole by supporting both individuals and shops. We are grateful to the shopkeepers for participating.
The income to enable this comes from some dividend income supplemented by donations from local organisations, such as the Village Show, Helping Hands , Denham, Gerrards Cross and The Chalfonts Community Board (part of Buckinghamshire Council) and from kind individuals. These financial contributions are very welcome and will be faithfully applied.
Although the scale of the Fawsett Trust is small, the vouchers seem to make a considerable difference to the recipients and are gratefully received. In these modern times it is, perhaps, sad that there are folk in the village to whom a relatively small amount can make a real difference at Christmas.
The trustees are established as the Rector of the Parish, two Parish Council nominees and two others.
The Trust Will Be Delighted to Receive Donations Towards This Work.
Please contact for further information about vouchers or donations: Rev. Dan Beesley at The Rectory, 2 Deanway, Mrs. Valerie Bayly-Jones at Russets, Back Lane (Tel: 01494 873776) or Richard Bolton richardheatherlea534@gmail.com, the Treasurer, at Heatherlea, Gorelands Lane (Tel: 01494 870534).

As in the last three Christmases the Chiltern Chirpers would like to perform for residents and patients in local care homes. We have established some possible dates when we can get the singers together. It would be a help to me in organising the calendar if any care homes which is not yet in touch with us would email me at marcus@bicknell.com putting yes alongside ALL the dates you could welcome us on... that way I can try to arrange two performances each evening and limit the number of days we have to leave our work/loved ones/other singing etc! We plan to give two sing-songs of 20-25 mins per evening, 17.00 and 17.45 so please also let us know which you can do. We'll mix barber shop with carols unless you express a different preference. No charge.
Sunday 8th December 17.00 YES / NO 17.45 YES / NO Monday 9th December 17.00 YES / NO 17.45 YES / NO Tuesday 17th December 17.00 YES / NO 17.45 YES / NO Friday 20th December 17.00 YES / NO 17.45 YES / NO
It suits us, improves the mood and entertains more people if the date and time we can sing for you coincides with a moment when close friends and family of your residents can join them. Is that something you could arrange please?

Nurse Bott Fund Closure
The ‘The Marjorie Bott Memorial Fund’ a charity known as the ‘Nurse Bott Fund’ has been closed.
The trustees agreed that the charity should be closed and that the remaining funds be passed to All Together Community, a Community Interest Company, Registered number 11617678.
This a village organisation, which is run by Louise Chamberlain, whose objectives closely match those of the Nurse Bott Fund so this an appropriate group to receive this money.
The Nurse Bott fund was started in by Hilary Warner in 1969 and over the years has given assistance to the needy of Chalfont St Giles, Jordans and Seer Green.
From now on anyone who needs financial help, or knows of someone in need, should contact Louise Chamberlain at All Together Community.
Donations for All Together Community can be made also by contacting Louise.
The trustees would like to thank all who have given their personal support to this charity and also the Misbourne Surgery, who together with the local School and the Parish Church have played a major role in identifying those in need.
